Foreign Driver Rating: !! not too bad; except Athens which is !!! clearly you enjoy a driving challenge
Most of Greece has come up to EU standards, as far as driving is concerned, with good signs and roads and vehicles.
The exception is Athens, where a combination of aggressive driving and bad urban planning makes for some intense experiences. Actually I would say Athens is one of the most challenging cities for drivers on earth – rivaling Mexico City or Bangkok. In those cities, traffic tends to be chaotic but slow; in Athens, it’s chaotic and fast. A bit like New York in the old days, back when cabs would hurtle down 7th Ave at 50mph. The good news is, car rental in Greece is generally cheap.
